About Us
The Argentine Wind Energy Association was created in 1996 as a non-profit, non-governmental organization by an R&D group of FI-UBA, led by Dr. Erico Spinadel, who was its president until his death on February 25, 2020.
Since March 2020 it is led by its new president, Eng. Héctor Pagani. Since then, the team has been working hard every day to promote the development of wind energy both nationally and globally.
The following facts stand out:
- Publication of reports and books on the sector (last book published “Wind Energy - A multidisciplinary systemic approach for developing countries”).
- Organization of events, including the VI World Wind Energy Conference 2007 in Mar del Plata, Argentina, the Wind Energy Forum 2008 and 2009, Eólica Argentina 2012 and 2013 and Viento y Energía 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019.
- Representation of the wind energy sector before different administrations and entities, as well as meetings with officials on a regular basis.
- Dissemination of the reality of wind energy, with presence in the media, conferences and congresses, as well as a weekly newsletter for members.
- Education and training of professionals and experts through distance learning courses, organized by AAEE-UFlo-GIZ, as well as periodic on-site courses in different universities.
- Advice to the industry through our team of experts.
- Representation of the Argentine wind energy sector in Latin American and international associations.
- Founding organization of the H2 Argentina Platform.
