RenovAR received a total of 123 project bids, adding up to 6.3 GW of available capacity, among which 17 were awarded with 12 going to wind, 4 to solar and 1 to biogas. "Envision has been closely watching Argentinaover the last few years together with our partners, as we expect it to be one of the most promising emerging global wind markets," said Felix Zhang, Envision's Group Executive Director.

Envision Energy has grown exponentially in the global renewable sector, it is ranked among top 10 largest windturbine companies in the world. Since its first project in Chile in 2014, Envision currently has more than 1000 MW in its Latam portfolio, with projects spanning Mexico, Chile and now Argentina.

President Macri has made renewable energy one of his main priorities in an effort to diversify Argentina's energy matrix. He has introduced new regulatory policies and energy auctions such as RenovAR to attract foreign direct investment into the country and to facilitate renewable energy development in Argentina. This commitment was reiterated in his recent visit to China, increasing confidence from energy companies, lenders and equity sponsors.

"We are proud to achieve positive results in Argentina's first auction as we demonstrate Envision's full commitment to the Latin American market, beyond Mexico and Chile, by introducing right technologies and solutions to drive down cost of energy," said Rafael Valdez Mingramm, Envision's Director for Latin America & the Caribbean.

Envision plans to install 2.5 MW wind turbine generators along with its proprietary Wind OS energy management software solution with the support of its newly established Center of Excellence based in Hamburg as well as local partners and subcontractors. The 4 projects are expected to reach commercial operation in the first quarter of 2019.
