So far the RenovAr programme which started in 2016 has held 3 successful rounds with the intention to inject wide-scale clean energy to the energy mix, as pathway to incrementally boost the use of renewable energy to 20% by the year of 2025. The programme has for now awarded 147 projects with a combined capacity of 4,466 MW.
The newly renamed Undersecretary of Renewable Enery recently announced "RenovAr MiniRen Ronda 3," with a tender of 400 MW which will be distributed in renewable projects, mostly in photovoltaic and wind. The bidding will be launched in October and the process will last until July 2019, which will conclude with the signing of contracts.
In addition, Argentina is also seeking to modernize and build new high-voltage transmission lines to assist on the growing electricity demand and to aid the incorporation of renewable energy to the grid. For the grid infrastructure projects, the government is adopting the PPP scheme and forecasts an investment of approximately $2.5 bn dollars.
As the renewable energy and power infrastructure sectors in Argentina are on the move, RENPOWER ARGENTINA will bring together policy makers, project developers, manufacturers, service providers and consultants from Europe, USA, South East Asia and LATAM countries. The key stakeholders will be attending and thus available for meetings with the delegates during the several networking moments built into the program.
